The New Game For Premium Members: Is it really necessary?

Category: Zone BBS Suggestions and Feedback

So, we've had this new game for us premium members introduced. And it tells you to give you a million points to Jage when you want to build a mansion, but he never comes on here. I don't see why this game was implemented when our admin is such a lazy ass and won't get on here to take care of this game for other people. I think that this game is pointless and it should be taken off of this site. What do you guys think?

I think I'm staying out of this discussion. LOL. I never saw a point to the game so don't really care if it stays or goes.

Yep, that's another point, Becky. I never saw a point to the game in the first place either. lol

hey michael.

the game was released a couple of years ago by mistake on the zone bbs birthday. then it was removed as there were lots of bugs in it.

after that, there was a topic " bring alternate universe back" where people asked for the game to be rereleased. my persinal thoughs are on 1 hand i am glad it is only for premium users for the moment, as it means we can test it before it goes out to everyone.

on the other hand, i do think again it's been rushed, with no story and no point. what needs to happen is, it needs to be taken down, thought long and hard over, then bought back.

and as for the mantion thing i have no comment. surely j could organize another way round that

Agree with Dan. It's all well and good building vertual crap and spending oodles of points on it, but there's still no point to it. If there were a way to win points in the game then maybe it would work a little better.

Post 6 by Shadow_Cat (I've now got the silver prolific poster award! wahoo!) on Sunday, 20-Sep-2009 6:22:34

Yes, it was brought back because many users seemed to want it. As to JJ's taking care of it, that is out of the rest of the staff's control.

Post 7 by CSection (Out standing in my field.) on Sunday, 20-Sep-2009 6:42:24

If you find it pointless, don't play it. Simple wouldn't you say?

Post 8 by Nem (I just keep on posting!) on Sunday, 20-Sep-2009 7:25:37

The teapot makes sense. I understand wanting to play new games and the such, however, if it doesn't work, it doesn't work.
Meh, it's only one link. Just skip it.

Post 9 by KC8PNL (The best criticism of the bad is the practice of the better.) on Sunday, 20-Sep-2009 15:13:47

Yeah, if you don't find it worth your time, then why do you find it worth your time to complain about it? As for J not delivering, sorry, we can't help you there. That's an administration issue. I agree with some who say we need more worthy games like poker, uno, etc.

Post 10 by illumination (Darkness is history.) on Sunday, 20-Sep-2009 23:29:59

Well, that's my whole point on this, guys. If there's no point to a game, take it down, think it over, and put it back up when there's more of a point to it. lol

Post 11 by illumination (Darkness is history.) on Sunday, 20-Sep-2009 23:34:46

And I do agree that there should be better games on here such as poker, uno, etc. Even like Cat suggested a while back, a deal or no deal game. That would be really cool. lol

Post 12 by OceanDream (An Ocean of Thoughts) on Monday, 21-Sep-2009 15:30:28

Yeah. I agree. That would be really cool to have a poker game.

As for this discussion, I never play the game. lol.

deal or no deal is really awsome. love that idea.

agree with michael on alternate universe

I can only back up what Scott has already said. All we as CL's can do is pass along your comments to the site admins, who are the ones to decide, control, and code the games. Or, if you wish, you can take your comments straight to either Chris or JJ yourselves.

Post 15 by season (the invisible soul) on Monday, 21-Sep-2009 21:24:19

since he's soooo damn busy or lazy, why don't he has open invitation for those who's interested to do some programming for this side, code for new games for examples.
yes, it might gets tricky with who involve and who is not, how much they can and cannnot control etc, but lets face it, he hardly here, and gets $25 anually for each premium to keep the server running , might be better off to have more open source for people that is tellented in this sort of programming, or people that wants to help up in general, to update stuff, or just, anything for god sake, who willing to dedicate their time on zone, more than him for sure.

Post 16 by Stevo (The Established Ass) on Tuesday, 22-Sep-2009 6:12:56

Ignoring the link is simple enough, but then what's the point in having the link if nobody is going to use it? That's making a slight assumption on my part, but seriously, if there's no point to the game then why bother having it there? The thing is I reckon it could have potential but it needs a total taredown and redesign if it's gonna reach it.

Post 17 by illumination (Darkness is history.) on Tuesday, 22-Sep-2009 17:39:52

I agree with Joanne. We're paying $25 a year for a lazy ass admin who won't get on here and do what he's supposed to. We suggest all these games, and what happens? Nothing because JJ won't come in and look at these suggestions. I'm sorry to cause so much drama here, but there needs to be more work done on this Alternate Universe game as well as perhaps implementing other games.

i'm staying out of this one

Post 19 by SingerOfSongs (Heresy and apostasy is how progress is made.) on Saturday, 26-Sep-2009 1:23:20

Erm. I could be wrong, but I think cl's can at least make changes (add rooms, etc.) I mean if that's what people want done. I'm not aware though that a dicision has been made on what things should cost, or any sort of distribution point where we could even see requests.

Post 20 by laced-unlaced (Account disabled) on Saturday, 26-Sep-2009 6:45:43

michael.

since i've been a member here, i can't say i even saw the admin loged in even 10 times which is saying something, because i've been here since 2005.

he must come online though, i mean, someone's got to code all this stuff, update the anagrams, change the profile layout, so obviously we just don't see him.

as for joanne's suggestion, i'm sure i saw somewhere about if you want to help code the site message j, but as j's never on it's pretty pointless.

and singer of songs, i think you need to meet with the staff and talk about the future of alternate universe

Post 21 by cumbiambera2005 (i just keep on posting!) on Saturday, 26-Sep-2009 7:15:11

Well, I actually have sort of a different take on this than what has been posted here so far. i actually was looking at the game earlier, and I think if it had a little more work done to it I think that would be really cool. As for the points thing, I don't even think there should be a way to get points, that way someone like me who's got max points can still have something to do. After all, you guys complain about the game parlor on the boards, so this would be a cool alternative instead of cluttering the boards. After all, some people don't realize that if all their suggestions were taken into account, they'd be getting rid of all the fun stuff, and there wouldn't be any point in coming here. Of course, I don't know what the point is for the game, but I do think that if some more work and creativity was put into it, it may just be a good fun waste of time. But that's just my 2 cents.
